A little about us
Hey there, thanks for stopping by! My name is Vlad and I’m the host of Wall Street Vision.
You might be wondering, “So, who is this Vlad guy?”
Oh, that’s so nice of you to ask! Let me tell you a bit about myself. Ever since I was seven years old, I loved watching funds grow in my little blue piggy bank.
Coins between the couch cushions? In they went!
Spare change from the corner store while running errands for my parents? Straight into savings!
The idea of building up a nest egg was fascinating to me and for that reason I held onto every bit of cash that came my way.
I know… perhaps I was a bit of an odd kid!
The strangest thing I did to fill up the piggy bank was probably when I was living in Colombia at the age of nine. I’d collect every glass soda bottle I could find and bring them to the recycling shop to earn a few pesos. It wasn’t much, but it taught me the value of honest work.
Fast forward to university, and I got a job working as a personal trainer at a high-end fancy-shmancy fitness club in downtown Toronto. This gave me the opportunity to meet and talk with people who had built serious financial success from their careers. During that time I trained lawyers, doctors, investment professionals and entrepreneurs.
This gave me a glimpse into what it realistically takes to build (and keep) true wealth. It also inspired me to revisit my fascination with money and find a career in the finance world.
So with a bit of elbow grease and a lot of sweat, I got my university business degree, the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designations.
That leads us to today where I’m now working closely with high-net-worth individuals in the investment industry. Seriously fun stuff!
Money has always fascinated me, and I’ve learned so much about the process by working closely with people who’ve made lots of it in their own unique way.
You’re probably thinking, “Ok, but where does the podcast fit into all of this?”
Well, as you’ve probably guessed, I’m a huge investment geek, and I’ve always been fascinated by stories of how people accumulated their own wealth.
The podcast is a way for me to share what I’ve learned with you.
There are lots of investment podcasts out there, but what makes this show different is our focus on stories. Anecdotes always help us connect to others’ experiences and at the end of the day, they’re just more fun to listen to.
Wall Street Vision episodes cover a variety of genius investors, whether it’s key lessons from top dogs who’ve done it all (the greats like Warren Buffett, Carl Icahn, Charlie Munger) or lesser-known entrepreneurs with valuable insights we can learn. We also dive into special topic episodes and interviews with some very smart folks.
Your next question might be… “Okay… so why are you doing this show?”
Looking online these days, there’s a lot of info that’s all sizzle and no steak. You see tons of people flexing their wealth and trying to pitch “get rich” schemes. Or you see people on forums making risky bets with all their savings. Ouch!
In reality, for most people, making money is a gradual process. Believe it or not, becoming wealthy is completely do-able as long as you have enough desire, knowledge and discipline.
This show is about uncovering how the truly successful people have done it. It’s about dissecting their stories and learning how to make millions the right way. And we’ll also take a look at financial markets and how they function.
“That makes sense …So who is this show for?”
It’s for people who want to learn from the best without having to listen to confusing gobbledygook finance talk.
If you haven’t checked out Wall Street Vision yet, you can listen to my trailer here. Another good starting point is this episode about how Ed Thorp went from beating casinos at roulette to beating Wall Street at Investing. That’s an amazing story!
Well, thanks for stopping by, it’s been a pleasure chatting!
Wishing you luck on your personal wealth journey and hope you stick around to be part of our Vision Nation community.
